Remembrance

In loving memory of our beloved father

Deokeenanun Ramdharry (Deokee), CBE

Dad, it has been twenty-three years since you left us for the heavenly abode. Time is often said to be a great healer, but we find ourselves missing you more as the days go by. You remain ever-present in our hearts and minds. Remembering you is easy, but the heartache of missing you never goes away. You are a piece of our hearts that lives in heaven. We continue to regret your sudden departure, and there remains a strange emptiness in our lives—an empty space that time can never fill.

Yet, you have left us with cherished memories that we will treasure forever. You are always in our prayers, and our love for you remains as strong as ever. Words cannot fully capture how important you were to us and the powerful influence you continue to have as a very precious and priceless father.

We find solace in knowing that wherever you are, you are watching over us, guiding us, and showering us with your blessings.

Love you, Papa.

Sadly missed by Mum, Neeroo, Honey, Ougen, Harry, Mila, Momone, Raj, and Chris.

An Appeal

Dear Reader

65 years ago Mauritius Times was founded with a resolve to fight for justice and fairness and the advancement of the public good. It has never deviated from this principle no matter how daunting the challenges and how costly the price it has had to pay at different times of our history.

With print journalism struggling to keep afloat due to falling advertising revenues and the wide availability of free sources of information, it is crucially important for the Mauritius Times to survive and prosper. We can only continue doing it with the support of our readers.

The best way you can support our efforts is to take a subscription or by making a recurring donation through a Standing Order to our non-profit Foundation.
Thank you.
